Woven Baskets
Woven baskets in natural tones add lightness and style to pantries while hiding items inside. Opaque bins are great for reducing the look of clutter, and we recommend using a combination of opaque and clear bins for a balanced look. For more-used items, we recommend placing on lower shelves so that you can see inside. For least-used items, we recommend placing on the highest shelves.
Metal Baskets
These metal baskets are perfect if you are looking for a more modern, sleek look. We recommend using magnetic or tie-on label holders for metal baskets (see below).
Floor Baskets
Floor baskets for useful for large items (paper towels, reusable bags, extra tupperware) as well as items you need easily accessible, such as kids’ snacks and lunch boxes. Reducing/eliminating the amount of clutter on the floor of your pantry makes a huge difference in letting your pantry breathe and look organized.
Plastic Bins
Plastic bins are easy to clean and are perfect for most-used items that need to be easily seen and grabbed. I also included an opaque version for hiding away items, especially those that get messy/sticky- and aren’t great for woven baskets.
Turntables / Lazy Susans
Lazy susans are a home organizer’s best friend! We recommend using them at eye-level shelves, and they are useful for corners in your pantry, making use of otherwise unusable/unseeable space. We recommend placing items like sauces, oils, vinegars, and spices. Tip: make sure to place the tallest items in the middle so that you can see everything.
Risers / Expandable Tiered Shelving
Tiered shelving is perfect for shorter items that you don’t want to get lost behind something else. We love using these for cans and jars, but the possibilities are endless.
Airtight Containers for Decanting
Decanting is a surefire way to reduce the visual clutter of product packaging and make your pantry beautiful. It takes some effort to transfer items to containers, but it is worth it for the ease of use while cooking and baking. We recommend decanting things like baking ingredients, beans, rice, and your favorite snacks (nuts, seeds, dried fruit, chocolate, etc.). Tip: write or label the expiration date of the current item on the bottom of the container.
Labeling
The finishing touch to your beautifully organized pantry is labels! This is especially important in putting everything back where it belongs and upkeeping the new organization system. We recommend either using a paint/chalk marker or label maker to label the label holders. As professionals, we use the Brother P-Touch Cube Plus Label Maker, which is Bluetooth-enabled and works through an app on your phone. We recommend this label maker because it has endless fonts, frames, and even the option to add pictures and symbols. However, the below label tapes work with any Brother label maker.
