Top 3 Home Organization Tips
As a certified KonMari® Consultant and Professional Organizer, I know first hand how it can be overwhelming in knowing where to start your home organizing efforts. There is so much information out there! It is no wonder more than 1 out of 4 Americans would like to be better organized according to the National Association of Productivity & Organizing. So here are three tips to get you started:
What Happens After You Declutter?
Once you have done the work to fully declutter your whole home, then comes the inner work of living more intentionally. It is easy to just focus on the “stuff.” It can actually get a bit addicting to declutter. You can begin to see everything in your home with new eyes and question every single decision.
Preparing for Holiday Toys
With holiday season quickly approaching, you might be thinking, “How can I prepare my home for all those holiday gifts… especially the toys?” Having a plan in place may make it less stressful and wont derail your efforts to simplify or declutter your space. If you are like many parents out there and struggling with getting the toys under control, then this is for you.
How I Became a Minimalist
It all began with coming home from my son’s 3rd birthday and unloading the presents. We are so fortunate to have many friends and a large extended family that care about our son… and who together gave him A LOT of presents. The reality of seeing the amount of stuff brought into our home all at once was eye opening.
Traveling Light--even to Europe!
A 10 day trip to Europe with no checked bags? You can do it! If you are interested in packing lighter on your next trip, I highly encourage it. We did not check any bags, and even with that, I would bring less on our next trip. The key is to pack clothing that you really love wearing and find comfortable. Also, don’t be afraid to hand wash items that get dirty in the sink with a bar of soap and then hanging them to dry.
